Privacy Policy

Welcome to EnglishUP GO (“the App”), published by Green Monster Media. This Privacy Policy explains what information is processed when you use the App and how we handle it.

1. Information We Process

EnglishUP GO is designed to respect your privacy. Most learning data stays on your device.

• Local storage: Learning progress, favorites, quiz statistics, streaks, game progress, diamonds, and app settings are stored locally on your device by default.
• Optional account: You can use the App without an account. If you register or sign in (email/password or Google Sign-In), we store on our servers: nickname, email (if provided), account identifiers, and authentication tokens. We do not receive or store your Google password.
• Usage analytics (signed-in users only): If you are signed in, the App may send aggregated study and play-time statistics (for example, minutes in listen/study/games modes) to our servers to improve the service and detect abuse. This does not include the text of your favorites or quiz answers.
• Diamonds ledger (signed-in users only): If you are signed in, changes to your in-app diamond balance may be logged on our servers (source of change, amount, timestamp) for fraud prevention. Your displayed balance remains stored locally on the device.
• Progress backup files: If you export progress, the App creates a manual .enup backup file on your device. It may include learning progress, favorites, quiz statistics, streaks, game progress, diamonds, and settings. Backups are encrypted and signed. When Google Sign-In is used for backups, a file can be restored only with the same Google account that created it.
• Local notifications: Study reminders are scheduled on your device through the operating system. We do not run a separate push-notification server.
• Device metadata: When you use online features, the App may send device type, app version, and an anonymous device identifier required for sign-in and API security.

2. Advertising

The App uses Google AdMob to show rewarded video ads. Ads are shown only when you choose to watch them (for example, to receive in-app diamonds). We do not force full-screen ads on app launch.

• Voluntary rewards: In-app diamonds are granted only after you complete a rewarded ad that you started voluntarily. Diamonds have no real-world cash value.
• Data used for ads: Google may process advertising identifiers (such as the Android Advertising ID), IP address, device information, and ad interaction data to deliver, measure, and prevent fraud in advertising. See Google Privacy Policy and AdMob policies.
• Personalized ads: Depending on your region, you may be asked for consent before personalized ads are shown (for example, users in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland). You can change ad personalization later in your device Google settings.
• Ad reporting: We receive aggregated ad performance data from Google (impressions, earnings). We do not receive your name or email from Google for ad targeting.

3. Third-Party Services

The App uses these providers:

• Google Play Services: App installation, updates, and distribution.
• Google Sign-In: Optional verification of the Google account used for backup protection and restore.
• Google AdMob: Rewarded advertising as described in Section 2.
• Our API servers: Optional account, analytics, and anti-abuse processing when you are signed in.

4. Children’s Privacy

EnglishUP GO is a language-learning app intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it. Parents and guardians should supervise minors’ use of the App and advertising features.

We are committed to complying with applicable children’s privacy laws, including COPPA where relevant.

5. Data Retention and Security

Local data remains on your device until you delete the App or clear its storage. Server-side account and analytics data is retained while your account is active and as needed for security, legal, or operational purposes.

If you delete the App or clear its cache, local progress is permanently removed from the device unless you have a backup file. You are responsible for where you store or share backup files.

6. Your Choices

• Use the App without signing in (limited online features).
• Decline or limit ad personalization where consent is requested or in device settings.
• Reset your advertising ID in Android settings.
• Contact us to request account-related assistance.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last Updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated policy.
